国内を代表するエレクトロ・ミュージック・シーンの立役者であり、その独自の感性によって世界中のアーティストからも支持を受けている数少ない日本人アーティスト。Madeon、Porter Robinson、Sophie（PC Music）など海外の第一線で活躍の彼らも「強くインスパイアされたアーティスト」として中田ヤスタカの名を挙げる。

ソロ名義によるアルバム『Digital Native』はiTunes総合チャート1位を記録。世界的なアーティストCharli XCXとのコラボレーション楽曲「Crazy Crazy」や、映画主題歌となった「NANIMONO（feat.米津玄師）」などが収録されている。

また、数々のアーティストへの楽曲提供も行っており、特にPerfume、きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅにおいては、ほぼ全ての楽曲をプロデュースしている。

さらに「LIAR GAME」シリーズのサウンド・トラックなど映画音楽も多数手がけており、ハリウッド映画「スター・トレック イントゥ・ダークネス」では監督であるJ・J・エイブラムスと共同プロデュースによる劇中曲を手がけるなど、その活動は多岐に渡る。

Yasutaka Nakata is a leading figure in Japan’s electronic music scene. His unique sound has attracted the attention of many global artists, making him one of the very few Japanese artists to hit the mainstream internationally. Madeon, Porter Robinson, and Sophie (PC Music) have all cited Nakata as a major inspiration, and all of these techno artists are popular with audiences in countries around the world.

Nakata’s solo album Digital Native reached the top spot on the Overall iTunes Chart. The release included Crazy Crazy, a collaboration with world-renowned artist Charli XCX, and NANIMONO feat. Kenshi Yonezu.

The musician has also created songs for several other artists. In particular, he has produced nearly every track for both Perfume and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

He has also been involved in music production for numerous films, including the soundtrack for the LIAR GAME series. Nakata co-produced the music for the Hollywood film Star Trek Into Darkness, directed by J.J. Abrams.
